Poem of a Dog

I am the one who is always waiting for you.
Your car has a sound I’ve etched into my soul—
I could recognize it among a thousand others.

Your footsteps ring like magic bells,
and your voice is music to my ears.
When I see you happy, my heart becomes happy too.

Your scent is my favorite comfort.
Your presence awakens every sense within me.
When you wake up, I wake up.

I watch you while you sleep,
and to me, you are my whole world—
my peace, my god, my forever.
Just seeing you rest fills me with joy.

Your gaze is a ray of light.
Your hands on me carry calm,
a gentle promise of endless love.

When you leave,
a great emptiness grows inside my heart.
And still, I wait—again and again.

Because I am the one
who will wait for you all my life:
today, tomorrow, and forever.
